Happy International Women’s Day! I can’t believe we’re already 8 days into the third month of the year! Honestly, where is time going ?! Oh March, I can’t wait till you show signs of Spring when it finally decides to stop being so cold in England sigh.
Let’s talk about February. Despite it being a short month, it always seems to be my month of discoveries. My birthday is end of Jan, so Feb is always my time to try something new, even if it’s just one product. New age, new goodies you know. 😉 I managed to discover a small selection of makeup products that ended up becoming staples hence why they are now my February favourites…
Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Self Made’ Palette – My friend Teni visited America and bought this for me for my birthday and I screamed with excitement when I saw it. The shades in this palette are so gorg and the colour payoff is everything, even the packaging alone was enough to draw me in. This is the first product I’ve owned from ABH as I just wasn’t really following the hype but after using this palette I’m defo going to look into the line some more. So far my favourite shades are Pink Champagne, Sherbert, Blossom, Hot Chocolate and Spirit Rock. I’ll probably do a full detailed review on this with swatches in the near future.
Sacha ‘Buttercup’ Setting Powder – The infamous powder taking over Ben Nye’s shine… Tbh I was happy with my Banana Powder but it started to run really low and I knew it was time for a new powder so I wanted to see what the Buttercup hype was about. Now I know. This powder is so yellow and finely-milled, it blends seamlessly into my skintone and makes my under eye highlight look flawless. It’s quite hard to get hold of in the UK but fear not, I’ve found a few places that stock it (prices vary) – Absolute Kolor, Lustre Cosmetics, Sacha UK, Melissa Lux, Shorbeauty. Thank me later!
Colourpop ‘Beeper’ Liquid Lipstick – Oh how I wish Colourpop shipped to the UK. Instead I’m buying it for extortionate prices on Ebay sigh. I bought Beeper a while back but wasn’t too keen on the colour (this seems to happen alot with me) but after wearing it more and more I’ve grown to love it. This was a big fave for me last month as it became one of my go to lippies for a day at work. Although it is sooo drying, I love how it doesn’t budge and I can eat without having to touch up. Winning!
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner – I’ve been a gel liner girl for over a year now but I needed a new liquid liner because I hate to admit it but my gel liner game is slacking. When I’m in a rush I can’t get a perfect line with gel liner anymore, it takes time and I don’t always have time. It could be down to the brush I’m using but sometimes it’s just nice to have different forms of liners. Maybelline liners are my fave so I bought this one early last month and it does what I need it to do. The brush is nice and precise, the colour is jet black and I can do my winged liner in seconds. Yay!
That’s it for my February Favourites. I don’t have favourites every month as I stick to the same thing but who knows that might change. Let’s see what March brings.
