I have been waiting for NYX to be more widely available in the UK for the longest time! I know it was on the UK NYX website, Ebay and Very UK but a lot of products were always out of stock or just for extortionate prices I was not willing to pay… (only because I know it’s so cheap in the US sigh.) So, when I got an email that NYX is being stocked on FeelUnique.com at reasonable prices with free delivery over £10 I was so happy.
I had my eye on a few lip products and after trying a soft matte lip cream two years ago, I knew what I was after. I ordered two matte lip creams and two glosses, both actually separate orders as I ordered a matte lip cream alongside a gloss twice (hope that makes sense!) Let’s get into what I got…
NYX ‘Abu Dhabi’ Soft Matte Lip Cream (£5.50) – I have heard and seen so much about this colour on Instagram and Youtube. Also my friend Teniola, who happens to be on Youtube swears by it so of course I fell for the hype and ordered it to see what it is all about. I can say that it is a lovely brown/pink which I find great for subtle makeup days. My only gripe is it is quite faint on my pigmented lips and needs to be layered up to achieve the full colour but apart from that me likey.
NYX ‘Stockholm’ Soft Matte Lip Cream (£5.50) – Okay so this was the first colour I was determined to get as the swatches I have seen are gorgeous. I also heard it’s a dupe for MAC velvet teddy which is my go to lippy. This is a bit more pink than I expected though, when I tried it I was like woah bright! However, once it dried it didn’t look as pink and I actually really like this colour.
NYX ‘Tiramisu’ Butter Gloss (£5.00) – The matte life has taken over so I have hardly worn glosses but after reading and watching reviews about how non-sticky these glosses are (which is my major problem with glosses) I went for it and ordered. I wasn’t let down. I love love love this gloss, it’s the perfect shade of pink and it looks great over pink lippies or alone.
NYX ‘Fortune Cookie’ Butter Gloss (£5.00) – After being so happy with ‘Tiramisu’ I decided to get this colour too which is a nice nude beige/pink. Again, it’s great alone but I find it so flattering over a lippy…preferably over pinks or browns.
I really don’t think you can go wrong with these colours, they suit all skin tones and I plan on getting more.
NYX is also available now on Boots.com and Selfridges.com. There’s also a stand in Selfridges on Oxford street. About time, come through England! I’m just waiting for it to be easily available like in my local Superdrug, one day at a time though lol…
